ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Lancelin South Pty Ltd was developing a staged 640-lot residential community in Lancelin, Western Australia.

As the development expanded, dedicated water and wastewater infrastructure was required to support the growing population. The project called for an integrated approach covering drinking water, irrigation water and wastewater treatment, with systems designed around the development's long-term operational and regulatory requirements.

CHALLENGE: DELIVERING INTEGRATED WATER INFRASTRUCTURE FOR A GROWING RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT

The Lancelin South Development required a complete water management solution capable of supporting a growing residential community.

The drinking and irrigation water infrastructure needed to treat 350 m³/day of raw water and provide services for a population of up to 2,600 people. At the same time, the development required a wastewater treatment solution capable of handling 350 m³/day of sewage and servicing up to 2,900 people.

Because the development was being delivered in stages, the treatment infrastructure needed to accommodate future growth rather than simply address the immediate requirements.

The project also needed to satisfy environmental and regulatory requirements. Water service licensing was an important component of the project, requiring the treatment infrastructure and supporting documentation to be aligned with the relevant requirements.

SOLUTION: COMPLETE DRINKING, IRRIGATION AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT INFRASTRUCTURE

Aquasol was engaged to design, supply, install and commission integrated water and wastewater treatment systems for the Lancelin South Development.

For drinking and irrigation water, Aquasol supplied a containerised water treatment plant designed to treat up to 350 m³/day of raw water for a population of up to 2,600 people.

The treatment process incorporated:

  • Reverse osmosis

  • Multimedia filtration

  • UV sterilisation

  • Carbon filtration

  • Chemical dosing

  • Storage tanks

  • Instrumentation

  • PLC/HMI controls

These technologies were integrated into a complete treatment system designed to provide controlled and reliable drinking and irrigation water production.

Aquasol also delivered wastewater treatment infrastructure designed to service up to 2,900 people, with a treatment capacity of 350 m³/day of sewage.

In addition to the treatment equipment, Aquasol provided ERA water service licensing support, installation and commissioning. This allowed the project to be delivered as a complete water and wastewater infrastructure solution rather than as individual treatment components.

RESULTS: INTEGRATED INFRASTRUCTURE BUILT FOR LONG-TERM DEVELOPMENT

Aquasol successfully delivered essential water and wastewater infrastructure for the Lancelin South Development.

The completed systems provide dedicated infrastructure for drinking water, irrigation water and wastewater management, with capacities designed to support the development as it expanded.

The drinking and irrigation water system provides treatment capacity of 350 m³/day, supporting up to 2,600 people, while the wastewater infrastructure provides 350 m³/day of sewage treatment capacity for up to 2,900 people.

By combining advanced water treatment technologies, automated PLC/HMI controls, chemical dosing, storage, instrumentation and regulatory support, Aquasol delivered an integrated solution covering the development's broader water management requirements.

The result was a scalable water and wastewater treatment solution designed to support the Lancelin South community and its continued residential development.
